Yes. You can generate and download Nepali speech without paying or entering payment details. Each request supports up to 500 characters, and generation is subject to service availability.
No. Kuralaya works directly in your browser without signup or a separate app installation. You need an internet connection to generate speech.
Enter your text, choose Jhuma or Rikutey, and select Generate speech. Listen to the result, then select Download MP3 to save it.
Kuralaya offers two voices: Jhuma, a female voice, and Rikutey, a male voice. Try both to choose the one that suits your passage.
Yes. Turn on Roman → नेपाली, type a Nepali word using English letters, and press space to convert it. Review the converted text before generating audio. You can turn the switch off to type directly with a Nepali keyboard.

You can enter up to 500 characters per request. For a longer script, divide it into shorter passages and generate each passage separately.
You can upload a plain-text .txt file and review its contents before using them. If it exceeds the editor’s limit, select a shorter passage. PDF and Word uploads are not currently supported.
The speech tool expects Unicode Nepali text. Text written using legacy fonts such as Preeti needs to be converted to Unicode first. Changing the font or file encoding alone does not perform that conversion.
Yes. Select Download MP3 after generating speech. You can attach the downloaded file in WhatsApp or import it into an audio or video editor.
Kuralaya can help you create short spoken passages for video narration, learning materials, greetings, and announcements. Listen to the generated audio before including it in your finished content.
Use clear Unicode Nepali, correct spelling, and punctuation. Test names, abbreviations, dates, prices, and phone numbers in a short passage. If something sounds wrong, try writing it as you would say it aloud and generate the passage again.
Kuralaya’s current voices do not offer selectable emotion or style presets. Choose between Jhuma and Rikutey, and use punctuation to help structure your passage.
Check your internet connection and confirm that your text is within the character limit. The speech service may also be temporarily unavailable or have reached its capacity. Follow any retry message shown by Kuralaya.
When you select Generate speech, your submitted text is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech to create the audio.
Yes. Open Transcribe to record or upload audio and convert it into text. Transcribe supports Nepali, English, and automatic selection between those languages.
Kuralaya brings Nepali typing, text to speech, and transcription together in one place. Curated at Baskota Lab, it offers a simple way to turn a short written passage into audio or spoken words into text.
